CONDITIONS TREATED
Rehabilitation Following Amputation
Amputation is the removal of a limb or other part of the body and our aim is to help the patient and his or her family to prepare to return to an active life. Our team of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and clinical psychologists are there to help the patient to learn new skills in mobility and body awareness.
The focus of our treatment for amputees is to promote healing and functional ability, to assess and provide appropriate prosthetics and equipment if that is appropriate and to increase the amputee’s ability to lead a normal life.
