Hydrotherapy
The hydrotherapy service offers therapeutic exercise in warm water to treat a wide range of different neurological and musculo-skeletal conditions.
It utilises the physiological effects of immersion in water and the properties of water to facilitate movement, strengthen muscles, challenge stability and balance, and aid in relaxation and pain relief. Hydrotherapy provides the opportune environment for many patients to move in a way that may otherwise be restricted on land.
All patients receive a land based assessment prior to commencement of hydrotherapy treatment to preclude any precautions and to identify objective markers.
The hydrotherapy area is a modern, clean and bright facility with private changing cubicles, ample space and all the necessary equipment, including a hoist and appropriate aids. The specially trained therapists work within this environment incorporating the latest techniques to provide effective treatment, ensuring the patient's comfort and safety throughout.
We accept referrals from Consultants, General Practitioners and Allied Healthcare professionals.
